Experiential Case Study

Building on the session from the 2024 IDG Summit, this workshop pulls back the curtains of Professor Amy Edmondson’s Harvard case study on what Microsoft learned about operationalizing psychological safety across its Western Europe business.

In this highly experiential session we will move beyond the case study to explore the relationship between compassionate leadership and psychological safety in creating the conditions for extraordinary collaboration, innovation, growth and flourishing.

Beyond theory, our intention is to
provide a powerful first hand experience of key leadership and team practices to shift the relational field, enabling breakthrough insight and systemic transformation.

Psychological Safety

   During this workshop, you will experience

  1. A Guided Compassion Practice from Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) - shifting neurophysiology into calm and connect and the relational field into a state of generative, open presence - IDG: Being

  2. Compassionate Listening – as a form of transformational listening to enable breakthrough insight to emerge in the intimacy of 1:1s, and the group as a whole - IDG: Relating (from the ground of Being)

  3. A Live Debrief on The Fearless Organization Scan (FOS) – as we did for Microsoft, enabling you to see the relational field of which you are a part through the lens of psychological safety and the brilliance of Professor Amy Edmondson’s methodology. Enabling systems thinking and new perspective, and revealing the core conditions required for extraordinary collaboration and co-creation - IDG: Thinking & Collaborating

  4. Powerful Actionable Insight – Insight without action is worthless. Taking action is the only path to change. If you wish to transform the outcomes you are co-creating in your closest team, change the way you relate. Since presenting at the 2024 Summit we have continued to play in the sandpit with Microsoft and will happily share learning from the field about the impact of compassionate leadership and psychological safety in the age of AI.
